With over forty years of experience drilling oil and gas wells, the management at McCoy Petroleum Corporation sincerely believes that a solid relationship with the surface owners and tenants, built on integrity, trust, and communication is vital to successful oil and gas exploration and development in Kansas.

A typical sequence of events for drilling an MPC operated well:

  • MPC's Land Manager will contact the surface owner of the land upon which we intend to drill a well, usually well in advance of 15 days prior to the anticipated move in date.
  • MPC's Field Superintendent and/or the contracted drilling company will contact the surface owner (or the owner's tenant) to discuss routes of ingress/egress to the well site, and other logistical surface issues, including the construction of the drilling pad and drilling pits.
  • After the completion of the drilling process, our contracted excavation company will restore the surface as close as possible to the condition prior to drilling. The surface owner should be mindful of the weather's impact on the timing of the restoration.
  • MPC's Land Manager will contact the surface owner and/or tenant to discuss any damage to growing crops after the restoration process has been completed.

Not all drillsites are the same; however, we strive to maintain consistency in the sequence of events related to drilling a well.

We are always interested in new exploration and development opportunities. If you own minerals in the mid-continent region and are interested in leasing to MPC, please contact Ryan J. Schweizer, Vice President-Land by phone, 316-636-2737 ext 2326, or by email.

Any inquiries by land and/or mineral owners, and surface tenants should be directed to Ryan J. Schweizer. Any emergency related call regarding one of MPC's producing properties should be directed to Dave Oller, MPC Field Superintendent, 620-532-9232.
